Pokemon GO Raid Bosses: New Year Edition

 

A new year and a new opportunity to enjoy Pokemon GO's latest experience is now available! The current event comes with brand new raid bosses to mark the passing of one year to another. 

Pokemon GO's New Year edition includes new raid bosses, cosmetics, some fan favorites, such as the Party Hat Wurmple, and some returning faces, too.

Here is what you need to know.

Pokemon GO New Year's Event: the Raid Bosses

The new event introduces special Pokemon that can be found as raid bosses for Tier One Raids. The best part is that every Pokemon can spawn as a shiny one. 

That type of Pokemon is perfect for all the shiny hunters that want to start 2021 with new shiny additions for their collections.

The five new raid bosses are:

  • Party Hat Wurmple;
  • Party Hat Wobbuffet;
  • 2020 Glasses Slowpoke;
  • Klink;
  • Espurr. 

Tier Three Raids Details

The new event also brings five Pokemon that can serve as raid bosses in the Tier Three Raids. They are:

  • Sudowoodo;
  • Skarmory;
  • 2021 Glasses Slowbro;
  • Party Hat Raticate;
  • Alolan Raichu.
You should know that you can evolve a shiny 2020 Glasses Slowpoke into a shiny 2021 Glasses Slowbro.

 


Tier Five Raids Details

In the Tier Five Raids, the legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh is the only Pokemon appearing. For this type of raid, you'll need a group of multiple trainers with strong Pokemon. 

The chances of catching the legendary Pokemon will be higher.

The Mega Raids

The Pokemon in the Mega Raids can be shiny. They allow you to use powerful mega evolution in different raids and battles.

Mega Raids:

  • Mega Charizard Y;
  • Mega Abomasnow;
  • Mega Blastoise.
 
Remember that the current raid bosses are available only for a limited time. 
Pokemon GO was launched for iOS and Android devices.
