Buckle up, everyone 'cause the House of the Dragon will be coming back for a third season! Luckily, we will have a chance to see more and learn how that issue will be solved!

House of the Dragon Season 3: What We Know So Far
We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivaled by its heart. We could not be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and watch this team burn bright again for season three, announced Francesca Orsi, the HBO programming Executive Vice President.
Ryan Condal, the showrunner, hinted that although the second season was about the "fits and starts" of conflict, the third season will be "about total war." So, we should prepare ourselves for a highly anticipated fight that is expected to take place early on in Season 3, maybe as soon as the first or second episode airs. Amazing!
House of the Dragon Season 3: Air Date
Condal has stated that the start of production for the season will take place in the beginning of 2025, and it is quite possible that the third season of House of the Dragon will not be shown until 2026. To refresh your memory, production on the second season began in April 2023, and the first episode aired in June 2024. Therefore, based on this chronology, it is possible that Season 3 will be returning in the summer of 2026.
If you think that's a long time to wait, you might want to consider giving a try to another Game of Thrones prequel series, dubbed "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.". This series is expected to premiere on HBO next year. In addition to that, it will be based on Martin's "Tales of Dunk and Egg," and it will chronicle the exploits of a knight called Ser Duncan the Tall and Prince Aegon Targaryen. How nice!
